Katherine is excited to join the Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio as a Policy Associate! She holds a bachelor’s and law degree from the Ohio State University. Following graduation from law school, she was an associate in the litigation department of Ice Miller, LLP. To further her interest in the intersection of law and health policy, she then joined the Preventing Tobacco Addiction Foundation. There, she worked with other national health organizations to build and engage local coalitions, draft legislation, and advocate for tobacco control policies at the local, state, and federal level. Katherine is passionate about influencing public policy to improve child wellbeing and serves on the Advocacy Committee for Local Matters, an organization dedicated to food education, access, and advocacy. In her free time, she loves to travel, hike, and explore the outdoors with her dog, Milo and husband, Zak.
